For the mother who wonders if she is doing enough
Read this on the evening the books are still open.
Dear friend,
There are evenings when the books are still open, the kitchen is not yet put back together, and everything that did not happen seems louder than everything that did.
After nearly two decades of homeschooling, I have learned that the fruit we most long for is often growing where we cannot yet see it. A child learning to apologize without being prompted. An older one pausing to help a younger sibling. A family prayer offered with one sincere sentence after a difficult day. These are not interruptions to formation. They are formation.
You do not need to make every day beautiful before God can use it. He is not waiting for the perfect schedule, the quiet room, or the completed checklist. He is present when you begin again.
So close the book when it is time. Bless the work that was done. Entrust the unfinished pieces to Providence. Tomorrow, gather them close and begin with the next faithful thing.
You are doing more than filling school days. You are making a home in which souls learn what is worth loving.
